The first high profile victim of Swine Flu

Swine flu is causing a great trouble in India these days. Day by day numbers of victims are increasing. To add to that swine flu has made one of the very high profile as its victim. This high profile victim is not any celebrity neither a bollywood star nor a cricketer but he is a Chief Minister of Gujarat State, India - Mr. Narendra Modi.

The honorable Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi visited to Russia for three days and returned on Wednesday was feeling down, tired and coughing frequently which later resulted in fever. Doctors checked him and samples were taken to check for H1N1 virus and to all surprise the Chief Minister was confirmed to be H1N1 positive and he became the first high profile victim in India to be tested positive with Swine flu test. After this was announced on Friday, few top industrialists who accompanied the chief minister on the trip to Russia got panic and went through the test and were found to be negative thus relieving them from danger of swine flu.

It’s for sure that the entire Gujarat will be praying for Mr. Narendra Modi and hoping to see him back soon to continue adding more shine to Vibrant Gujarat. I am praying for him and I hope you are doing the same.

However this is the high time when people in India realize the importance of precautions against Swine flu. If it can reach to such high profile people it can easily cause damage among common man. Read more about the precautions against swine flu.

Regulations and its implementations

"Rules are made to be broken" - That is what we all believe in. Of course some rules are to be broken while some are to be followed. No one can always be right not even the rule maker. After all we leave in a democratic country and we have to make our own rules and regulations and we have all rights either to follow those rules or just keep it aside and let it be on a paper.

While we make rules and regulations we also have to focus on its implementation. Yes, while we make any rules the most important thing is to focus on its implementation. Today government comes with lots of rules and regulations but how many are actually followed. Recently I read in a newspaper, government in our city came up with a regulation in which if any one will be caught spitting on the road they will have to pay Rs. 1000 as punishment fee. But no where it was mentioned about who will regulate this? Who will be the accountable for it? Who will observe it and when? This is where India lacks,  implementing it physically rather than keeping it on paper.

Blaming government completely for all these is not fair. Because we all some or other way are responsible for these. In one speech on Independence day one of the top notch MBA college's director said one simple thing which i would like to repeat over here. She said "If every individual in India understands their own responsibilities and be accountable for it, India will be free from most of their problems and would achieve the highest possible growth."  If I take the above example every individual should understand that workers of municipal corporation every night give up their sleep and clean roads to make it walkable for us. People without any hesitation spit on roads not even realizing what they are up to.

Many times Government have taken suitable steps to define some regulations and implement. But you cannot expect government to observe all 24x7 every individual whether we are following them or not. We should take a step forward and realize the importance of those regulations and be accountable for it. If we observe thoroughly how many of us follows traffic rules? I do agree every time you don't have to stop on traffic signal at least at the point when signal is not working. But we should at least make sure that when ever we stop, we stop behind zebra mark. While we are walking on road we make sure when to cross and when to not. Tie a seat belt even if we go a kilometer far and wears a helmet at least a front runner should wear a helmet.

It is not compulsory to follow all the rules but we should realize and make a point to prioritize those rules and make at least 50% of them compulsory. Imagine if every one starts following 50% of all the regulations it will be easier for all of us to move freely out in India. Police will be lenient with people because they will observe the difference. We and authorities will be able to think and focus on other major issues rather than running behind each of us for such small matters.

Taking up our own responsibilities can make a big difference in India. It just about understanding right and wrong, prioritize important things and make sure to follow it till end. At least if every educated people can be responsible and realize the importance of our education, it will create a big difference because in our educational curriculum we all learn all do's and don'ts.

India's Independence Aaj Kal

It has been 60 years of our independence from Britishers but how many of us think that we are totally independent. I am too young to say these but I guess the situation today is worst than it was 60 years ago. At least there were Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, Sardar Patel and many more to fight for independence. Today even if any one tries to be Mahatma Gandhi or Bhagat Singh, he or she will either be killed or will be thrown in some barren land where finding him/her could be near to impossible.

60 years ago we were dependent or we were servant because of money. We were having loads of money and that lured people to come to us and rule us. However today we all are "servant of money". Condition is still the same even though on every 15th August we celebrate our independence day, send sms to people around the country, listen patriotic songs, write blogs on independence or enjoy the holiday sleeping or roaming around with friends. We are still ruled and this time its money who is ruling India.

All parents want their child to become doctor, engineer, MBA, MCA with only one aim of earning fat salary. Almost 90% of children blindly follow what their parents say and become the follower of buzz in the country. Parents send their children to other countries so that they can earn in Dollars, GBP and EURO so that when they come back they get lots of Rupees, thanks to the global currency rate. And to add to that majority of those who go to other countries never return.

We all are running behind money. If we say this sentence in other way it will be : money makes us do whatever we are doing now a days, in short "money rules us". Till we are 20+ we are still not aware about where our interest lies?, what we want to do?,  what talent we have? While in other countries people at 20 becomes entrepreneur.

50% of students in 12th and colleges do not know which exams they have to clear for getting admission in IIT or IIM. However 100% of students are clear what should be the score of TOFEL and GRE to get admission to MIT or NY university.

I am not against people earning fat salaries, neither I am against globalization. My concern is that do we need to run behind all these for money. If I am interested in nano technology and go to US to learn nanotechnology its fair enough but if I am going US only because I can earn Dollars, it means we are still the servant. I know every one cannot make it to IIT and IIM but we all know why are they different. Today with Internet we can have any information on click, than why we in other colleges don't do what they do in IIT and IIM.

We feel politicians are corrupted and they will never allow us to do what we want. But they are also being ruled by Money; they are corrupted because they run behind money or money makes them do so. Almost every Government officer today don't hesitate in taking bribe for doing their regular task apart from salary. Those who have money they give them and they are happy with it. We all sit and criticize Dhoni when we loose match or any good competition by saying he is more busy in earning through ads. But if we will go to his place we will do the same thing because we all want to be rich and want to make hell lot of money. Being Cricketer and getting selected in top 11 is not a easy task. We should have talent and right opportunity to show that talent. Opportunity will come only if we at least put some efforts to get into it. I know many of my friends who were good sportsman but they either stopped playing or left their dreams only because they thought (or their parents thought) being engineer and doctor will help them survive rather than experimenting with their life to get selected in top 11 even though they are talented, even though they are interested in cricket, even though they never wanted to be a book worm.

Talent is something which can help us survive in our entire life. But today we think talent have no place in India. Electrical engineers, Chemical Engineers go to IT companies, because manufacturing firm does not give white collar jobs. Students interested in music and literature takes up engineering course because being engineer gives money and its a status symbol now a days. Those who cannot make it to Engineering college they do B.Sc or B.Com and than jump for MCA to get in top notch IT companies because those graduate degrees have no ROI. We are interested in doing coding for whole day, copying a few lines of code from one module to other, but we never create any Google, Facebook, Twitter or SecondLife. Every night we dream of becoming rich next morning but we never dream of getting success in our talent.

I personally feel young India should realize importance of talent, their own interest and know what they want to be and why? Not just become doctor or engineer to be rich. I am not against earning good or being rich but if we can earn in the field of our interest we can probably do wonders.
